Let's get documentation consistant
« on: April 05, 2020, 05:37:38 am »
With all the firmware "updates" the documentation here: https://pockethernet.com/manual/manual.html#device
has grown inaccurate...
 - LED for battery level/charge states - what is correct???
 - LEDs for pair status when doing a quick test, what pair is what LED???

According to the online manual, Ethernet pair 1 is the left LED and 4 is the right-most LED.

So assuming to "normal" 568b wiring https://i.stack.imgur.com/4UjsX.png
LED 1 left is blu
LED 2 is org
LED 3 is grn
LED 4 right is brn
Is 568b always assumed for this test ??? or is it based on your preference set in the app Tools > Settings > TIA ???

...but when doing a quicktest (this is on a device with firmware v33) I get the following color scheme which does not make sense...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0O3HUfSpSc

Power found on POE port should be pairs 1 + 4 (blu/brn)
10/100 link should be pairs 2 + 3 (org/grn)
1000Mbps link should be all LEDs

...hence, I don't understand why LEDs 1 and 2 go red (indicating Power over 10volts), and then lastly LEDs 1 and 2 go white (indicating link with POE)

Did you create the label yourself? Can I download it somewhere?

The word doc template for the face-plate label can be found here http://jpelectron.com/sample/Pockethernet/

Yes - we need updated and firmware-consistent manuals! Or is this a new bug introduced with the new firmware?
