Will not connect via app or usb

In just received my pocketethernet and it appears to be defective.  I have tried to connect using the app and two separate iPhone 7 phones and neither have worked.  I have also tried to update the firmware on a windows 10 PC and while the drivers appear to install automatically the firmware executable file does not recognize the pocketethernet and no serial number or info is ever displayed.  I am looking for assistance on how I can have a replacement unit sent ASAP or if there is anything else I can try.

You have tried this?
I am not using an Iphone


    Turn the Pockethernet unit on
    Turn on Bluetooth
    Open the App
    Push the connect button to establish the connection
    Pockethernet is ready to use
