+1, just bought a PockEthernet and would love to see it provide me with a portable serial port in the near future, lugging around a small laptop with a USB-serial cable is getting old.

That being said, there is nothing wrong with a focus on stability over many additional features. As long as development continues in some fashion, I'll be satisfied.

I am surprised not many people see the RS232 feature useful.
I deal with this on every AV integration job I get involved (most common isues are baudrate missmatch and RX/TX misswire)
I hope the feature gets enabled in the future
