802.1x Support
« on: October 19, 2016, 01:10:17 AM »
I deal with a lot of locations with wired 802.1x auth, and it would be a major help to be able to test/troubleshoot wired 802.1x deployments.  I think I remember seeing that they were looking at adding 802.1x support, but cant find any info on it now...

Test authentication (Success/Fail)
Support for different EAP Types
Info from the client perspective for 802.1x debuging (EAPOL, Handshake, etc)
IP Info once authenticated.
VLAN assignment (if using dynamically assigned vlans)
Certificate Info

Anything else I'm forgetting here?

That would be quite some serious development work I think. We'll look into what the possibilities are.

Yes, that would be very useful. I'd be willing to pay extra to unlock that functionality in the future.
